Has anyone else ever wanted to have a member directory available to members only AND a publicly available directory with more limited information shown (name and company only, for example)?

Has anyone figured out how to do that?

I've tried creating an additional directory configuration but it only limits search fields, not fields returned, and requires turning on "allow anonymous searching," which makes the members only directory public too.

While we were told we could have "as many directories" as we'd like. But in reality, you can have as many "searches" as you want, but they all end up at the customer's profile. Also, nothing is really private. If you search "Maryland" for example, in your website search, member, expired member, and non-member member type profiles will show up (we use YM for our AMS and CMS). If anyone has found a way around either of these situations, I would love to hear about it - thanks!

Sharon, I think you may be able to eliminate the issue of profiles showing up in a public website search (they'll still show up if the searcher is signed in as a member) by making sure "Do not allow anonymous searching" is checked under the Security & Privacy settings (Content & Settings > General Settings) but don't quote me on that.
