We would like to gather some feedback about an idea that was submitted via the Idea Box. The suggestion was to add the ability for Admins to create Customized Invoice Templates for the different commerce areas of the product.

The original Idea can be viewed (and voted on) here!

We'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this. We definitely see value in being able to configure customized invoices per Event, Donation Fund, Memberships, etc. But want to make sure we understand the needs of our customers! Please add any feedback that you would like to share about this request.

This would be great! It's hard to make a one size fits all for the various items and programs we have in play.

Just voted for it.

I second others that this would be useful: specifically, having separate templates for events and other products.

A more general and -- to me -- important point regarding invoices:

Many of our members -- as well as our staff -- find the current system of grouping adjustments with payments to be massively confusing. This is particularly so if adjustments are for positive amounts (say, to correct for a member being undercharged, or subsequently adding a benefit). This invoice is a good example: https://thinkhomecare.site-ym.com/members/invoice_view.asp?id=93ED5799-2B2B-4C12-A571-5E911EDDC3ED

To my mind, adjustments deserve their own category, separate from payments.

I agree with Tom's comments - makes the invoices look confusing and members call about that a lot. We often make them a clean invoice manually instead because their employer won't take our version.

AGREE with L. Reily and T.Meyer - I spend a lot of time explaining adjustments etc to confused members. Since I have 80 different member types - I VERY MUCH want a customized invoice template. I also do not like that when older, paid invoices are retrieved they show "current" template items. The One size fits all does not fit anyone I imagine! The template invoice not fitting my organization was noticeable within a few months of starting up with YM.
