Upvoting URL idea!
I'm upvoting this idea from Leah Reily which was rejected as "functionality already exists," because we have NOT found that the functionality exists, but it should!
We were initially told by our implementation manager that the /page/customname links should work, and we placed them in hundreds of locations on our public website, hyperlinked in emails, etc. Then we discovered that nearly 100% of visitors were being sent to a 404 error page. Then we were told by our second implementation manager that this was an unexpected issue, and the /customname links should work. However, we never got a solution and continue to have the same issue.
I've manually changed hundreds of links online, only use the /?page= convention when sharing, and am trying to figure out how to get other people sharing our pages to do the same instead of copy/pasting form the URL bar (which shows /page/customname and doesn't usually work).
The latest response from support we got was: "If you are sourcing from within our system, the /page/name relative path is perfectly fine but if it's used outside of our system that will not work. As for now, anything outside of our system should be utilizing the permalink." (Permalink being the /?page= URLs).
So "functionality already exists" doesn't really seem to be the case.
