Table Field Type in YM (Custom Field Type)
Just curious - would it be hard to manage a Table Field type in YM? Our Enterprise Department uses a clunky spreadsheet to track the benefits received by our corporate partners, enterprise partners and corporate sponsors. Since integrating with a sales management solution like Salesforce.com is out of the question for us at the moment, I was thinking about how MS Access has a table field...it would be great if that could be added as one of the field types in YM. We could potentially use those to keep track of what benefits they are entitled to and if they were fulfilled for the year or not.

Displaying it would be an adventure if we are talking about a HTML table field attached to a member profile.  Would it need to be displayed on the profile or attached to the member and viewable  by some other means such as a separate page?

The latter would be preferable.  Imagine the fun I would have trying to build a report with that Very Happy

Another application I could think of for a table field would be to use it to keep track of what bill/legislation our commissioners are keeping track of or have a stake in.  I could sell that idea to our Public Policy team (in-house lobbyists for our counties), and get their buy in to use YM more.

I wonder if this custom field of type "table" could also be used to store the bulk email content that was sent to a member..  currently, our admins are creating activity logs with all of this data so they have a record of it.  Maybe this has multiple uses.  Shall we place it into the Idea Box?  I bet if we stated the solution is to be able to store rich content and it be attached to the member the same way a custom field is we would probably get a lot of votes.
